with that said.....
i absolutely adore the US version of the show. it's not that i don't like the local (Philippine) version but i've never actually watched an episode. that's a story for a different post.
ANYWAY, i haven't watched survivor in awhile, i think it's been 8 years since i've religiously followed a season. a couple of weeks ago, one of my oldest friends told me about the newest season of survivor. he told me that the show had "Boston" Rob Mariano back, sounded interesting to me... Rob has now played the game 4 times and was also a contestant on the Amazing Race. so i downloaded the episodes i've missed and it didnt disappoint me... i was glued. i eagerly waited for the new episode every week.
over the weekend, my friend told me about the "Heroes vs Villains" season of Survivor. It's another "All-Stars" edition of the show. It was the most AWESOME season i've ever seen. i must admit, i didnt know half of the castaways (contestants) since i only watched the first 8 seasons -- but the way people played the game was just amazing.
i watched that season for 12 hours straight and didn't regret a second of it. some of my all time favorites were there like Rob, Colby, Jerri and Rupert. it was (honestly) very nostalgic to see them on the show again. they are a bit older than when they first joined survivor, but still they were good at it.
seeing some of my favorite castways made me dig up some the first "ALL STARS" season. as i searched YouTube for the All Stars Reunion show, i stumbled upon a couple of channels which featured ALL the seasons of Survivor. a light bulb flashed on top of my head, and told myself... "i'm going to watch the show from the beginning." yep.. from Borneo to Redemption Island.. ALL OVER AGAIN. i will get to watch season's i've never seen and see how much the show's evolved over the years. witness how recurring characters such as Russel, Parvati, and JT matured in their strategies. i will even watch the seasons where everybody said was a snoozer.
